The role at Huon Aquaculture Company is to oversee fish performance and health data, ensuring optimal quality in the Parramatta Creek Processing Factory.

As a Fish Performance Officer, you will be responsible for collecting and analysing data on fish performance, health, and quality. This involves monitoring data to support decision-making and providing insights into fish wellbeing.

Your primary location will be at our Parramatta Creek Processing factory, with occasional off-site work required to understand Huon's fish performance and health strategies.

You will:

  • Collect and monitor fish performance, health, and quality data to inform operational decisions.
  • Coordinate flesh quality sample collections and liaise with local feed suppliers for analysis, ensuring efficient communication.
  • Assist the Feed Trials team by coordinating equipment, schedules, and resources for sampling events, optimising operational efficiency.
  • Compile and report data to provide actionable insights for internal and external stakeholders, supporting informed decision-making.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including the Fish Production Manager, Fish Production Analyst, and Quality Assurance Officer, to ensure relevant data capture and prompt health concern communication.

About You

  • A background in fin fish processing and a willingness to extend knowledge in the fish performance and health space.
  • Excellent communication skills for building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to make sound decisions under tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and confidence in computer skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail with well-developed analytical and reporting skills.
