Establish a new food manufacturing facility in Sydney's West.

Leading the setup of this facility requires expertise in factory layout, equipment sourcing, and setup. The ideal candidate has experience in greenfield/brownfield site setup within the food, pharmaceutical, or beverage manufacturing sectors.

The Business

A rapidly growing company has reached capacity at its current facilities and identified a new site for production transfer.

It manufactures over 300 SKUs to HACCP and SQF standards, supplying both QSR and retail customers.

The Role

We seek an experienced Senior Project Engineer to oversee the design, planning, and execution of the new facility.

  • Project Leadership & Management: Define scope, timelines, budgets, and resource needs; manage milestones, risks, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Facility & Process Design: Develop optimized layouts, flow diagrams, and configurations for efficiency, safety, and scalability; specify and select equipment meeting industry standards.
  • Installation & Commissioning: Oversee site preparation, utility hookups, installation, lead FAT and SAT, and coordinate startup activities.
  • Stakeholder & Vendor Management: Manage technical contacts, RFPs, vendor selection, negotiations, and procurement.
  • Continuous Improvement & Sustainability: Incorporate sustainability and waste reduction practices into the facility design and operations.
About You

As a highly intelligent and creative Project Engineer/Manager, you have experience in food, beverage, or pharmaceutical manufacturing.

You can commit to a 12-month project and have managed site startups, including designing layouts, sourcing equipment, and installation.

Requirements

Key responsibilities include managing all project phases from concept development to commissioning.

Ensure timely, budget-compliant, and food safety-standard compliant delivery.

Develop layouts, flow diagrams, and configurations optimized for efficiency, safety, and scalability.

Incorporate sustainability and waste reduction practices into the facility.
