Neonatology Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a neonatologist to provide clinical care to over 150 babies admitted to Mater every month.

About the Role

The successful applicant will be leading a team of neonatal nurse practitioners, neonatal trainees, and registrars in one of Australia's busiest and most clinically diverse neonatal units. The role involves providing family-centred care to babies and families in our three neonatal critical care unit (NCCU) cohorts.

  • Providing clinical care to infants with extreme prematurity, unwell term infants, infants requiring neonatal surgery, and those with congenital heart disease.
  • Caring for babies at delivery and on the postnatal floors and outpatient follow-up and antenatal counselling.
About You

Suitable applicants will have:

  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Medical Specialist within the field of Paediatrics and Child Health.
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) in Neonatal/ Perinatal Medicine (or equivalent).

Preferred qualities include previous experience as a neonatologist caring for babies with surgical conditions and congenital heart disease, and experience and/or qualifications in research, education, clinical governance, and/or quality improvement.
