Role Description: A senior environmental professional is sought to maintain the Environmental Management System, drive regulatory compliance and support sustainability initiatives in a dynamic mining operation.

The ideal candidate will be confident working independently and have a proven track record of environmental systems, compliance and monitoring programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and improve the Environmental Management System and associated plans and procedures.
  • Deliver inductions and training on environmental awareness and responsibilities.
  • Identify and manage environmental risks to ensure full regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate and report on statutory obligations including NPI, NGERS, CPS, AERs and other relevant requirements.
  • Conduct site inspections, internal audits and recommend corrective actions.
  • Manage clearance activities and disturbance planning.
  • Oversee monitoring programs for groundwater, surface water, waste, dust and noise.
  • Lead incident reporting and investigation for environmental events.
  • Supervise environmental contractors, consultants and mentor the Environmental Technician.
  • Contribute to mine closure planning and progressive rehabilitation.
  • Support community engagement activities on environmental topics.
  • Maintain site environmental tools, equipment and consumables.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar environmental role within the mining or resources sector.
  • Strong knowledge of WA mining and environmental legislation.
  • Proficient with GIS software and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to liaise across departments and contractors.
