About the Role

The Queensland Department of Education is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated School Technical Officer to join our team. As a key member of our education technology team, you will play a critical role in supporting the operation of our school's information and communication technology (ICT) network services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical advice, instruction, and assistance to staff and students on the effective use of ICT tools and equipment.
  • Assist in the provision of in-service training to staff on the effective application of ICT tools to achieve educational services to students.
  • Provide effective and efficient support to staff and students to resolve problems associated with school computing facilities.

Requirements:

  • Strong technical knowledge of server hardware and configuration, and networking peripherals.
  • Understanding of Local Area Networks and Wide Area Networks.
  • Experience using remote support tools to support servers and workstations remotely.
  • A high or good level understanding of PC desktop and laptop systems, Apple iPads, and printer support.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
