Security Leadership Expert

The Directorate Security Advisor is responsible for implementing the Protective Security Framework, leading security-related projects, and advising on security matters for the directorate.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the implementation of the ACT Public Sector Protective Security Framework for the directorate.
- Use judgment and critical thinking to respond to security, facilities, fleet, and sustainability matters across the directorate.
- Provide advice and prepare strategic and complex submissions, papers, briefs, and plans relating to security.
- Collaborate with officials from other ACT Government directorates, the Commonwealth, and other jurisdictions to enhance security policy outcomes.
- Lead a team of policy, project, and operational officers to achieve objectives by developing capability, mentoring staff, and fostering a sense of purpose.
- This position involves direct supervision of staff.
- Proven senior management experience, preferably leading policy development or projects.
- Demonstrated ability to engage across Government and forge relationships to develop informed policy solutions to complex matters.
- Demonstrated knowledge on security matters, including protective security.
- Demonstrated ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams.
