Ensuring Staff Suitability is a critical role in our organisation. Our Personnel Security Officer plays a key part in this process, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to assess the suitability of staff for employment.

The successful applicant will have well-developed communication skills, be able to use technology and information management systems, and have the ability to research, organise and conduct interviews, manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with stakeholders to provide advice on personnel security matters;
  • Research and organise interviews to assess staff suitability;
  • Use technology and information management systems to support team outcomes;
  • Manage competing priorities and meet deadlines;

Essential Qualifications:

  • Certificate IV in Government Security (Personnel Vetting) or ability to gain and maintain this qualification;

Eligibility:

  • Must be an Australian citizen to be employed in the APS;
  • Required to obtain and maintain the required security clearance for this role;
  • Fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
