**The Position**
The Staff Specialist Geriatrician plays a vital role in promoting healthy aging by providing care to older adults in both inpatient and outpatient settings. This position involves delivering clinical care and leadership within the GRACE team (Geriatric Rapid Acute Care Evaluation). The role is guided by current evidence-based medical practice to ensure the delivery of quality and safe patient-centered care. Additionally, apart from providing healthcare to older adults, the department is dedicated to educating both Advanced Trainees (ATs) and Basic Physician Trainees (BPTs).

**The Location**
A vibrant and modern city known for its planned layout, expansive parks, and cultural attractions and is home to many national monuments and institutions. The city is surrounded by bushland and mountains, offering plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, and wildlife watching.

It has a diverse population, with a mix of government workers, students, and families. The city is known for its high quality of life, with excellent schools, healthcare, and recreational facilities. It also boasts a thriving food and wine scene, with many cafes, restaurants, and wineries showcasing local produce.

**The Facility**
A Level 4 hospital proving a range of acute and sub-acute services, including community based care. The facility is a 270 bed public hospital, in an expanding area of this city. It operates a 24 hour Emergency Department. Other service modalities include day surgery, specialist outpatient clinics, Hospital in the Home and the Geriatric Rapid Acute Care Evaluation service that reaches into aged care facilities across the ACT.

**The Requirements**
- Be registered or be eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Hold a Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Physicians (FRACP) or an equivalent higher specialist qualification in Geriatric Medicine
- The ability to participate in a on-Call Physician Roster.
