Job Role

The Sydney Children's Hospitals Network is seeking a Trainee to further develop orthopaedic skills in clinical care, procedures, education, research, and supervision under the guidance of consultant paediatric orthopaedic surgeons.

This role offers an opportunity to gain experience in providing orthopaedic support to patients, assisting in trauma and emergency support, and teaching junior medical officers, nurses, and undergraduates.

Requirements
  • MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia
  • Minimum three years postgraduate experience
  • At least 12 months previous orthopaedic surgical experience, with substantial paediatric experience being highly desirable
Responsibilities
  1. Provide orthopaedic support to patients of paediatric Staff Specialists and Visiting Medical Officers (VMOs)
  2. Assist in trauma and emergency support for patients across all hospital areas, including the Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, inpatient and outpatient areas
  3. Teach junior medical officers, nurses, and undergraduates
