Occupational Therapist Job Description

Work with children and their families during pivotal life phases in a unique role at the Royal Children's Hospital. As an Occupational Therapist, you will provide occupational therapy assessment and intervention services to support child development and maximise participation in daily activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with patients and their families to develop assessment and discharge plans that promote everyday activities.
  • Make a meaningful impact on the healthcare journey of infants, children and young adults.
  • Implement innovative and outcome-focused intervention practices to foster progress and wellbeing.

The successful candidate will possess a recognised graduate-entry qualification in Occupational Therapy and current registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. Previous clinical experience working within acute care or a hospital environment is essential, along with clinical experience working with children.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Graduate-entry qualification in Occupational Therapy (Bachelor, Masters or Doctorate)
  • Current registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Previous clinical experience working within acute care or a hospital environment
  • Clinical experience working with children
