Job Description

Job Title: Strategic Policy Manager

Job Summary:

The State of Queensland is seeking a highly skilled Strategic Policy Manager to lead the development and implementation of policies related to disability and healthcare. The successful candidate will have a strong background in policy development, analysis, and implementation, as well as excellent communication and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement policies related to disability and healthcare, in consultation with stakeholders and experts.
  • Conduct research and analysis to inform policy decisions, including reviewing existing policies and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to build support for policy initiatives and ensure effective implementation.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, community organizations, and advocacy groups.
  • Provide strategic advice to senior leaders on policy matters, including identifying opportunities for policy innovation and improvement.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in a relevant field, such as public policy, public administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in policy development, analysis, and implementation, preferably in a government or healthcare setting.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct research and analysis to inform policy decisions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
