Key Job Responsibilities

This position is responsible for delivering strategic data insights and solutions through the application of advanced mathematical and statistical techniques. As a key member of the team, you will work closely with business stakeholders to understand their needs and develop customized solutions that drive business growth.

The role involves serving as an expert in translating complex data into actionable strategies, discovering business narratives told by the data, and presenting findings to various levels of management. Additionally, you will be responsible for developing and testing heuristics, creating and running models, performing data exploration and mining, and solving predictive and prescriptive problems.

Required Qualifications
  • A solid understanding of advanced mathematics, statistical models, and machine learning algorithms.
  • 5+ years of experience with programming languages for statistical and ML modeling, such as Python or R, with expertise in Spark and big data/cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.
  • Experience in building and delivering enterprise-scale software, including error handling, testing, and code optimization.
  • Proficiency in using scripts like SQL or Hive for accessing and wrangling data.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to bridge the gap between data science and business management.
  • A Master's or doctoral degree in a relevant field, such as business analytics, computer science, statistics, or mathematics.
Desired Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of basic and advanced predictive and prescriptive models.
  • Experience with electricity and nuclear utility business models and operations.
  • Basic knowledge of Linux command line interface and cloud platform tools.
  • Knowledge of Hadoop ecosystem, including tools for data mining and analytics.
  • Strong exploratory analysis skills and ability to deliver results using visualization tools.
