Principal Piping Designer Opportunity

Wood Plc is seeking a highly experienced Principal Piping Designer to join our team in Darwin, Northern Territory, as part of our Operations APAC West business.

We deliver brownfields engineering, procurement, construction, optimisation, and technical services to the oil and gas sector, enjoying long-term partnerships with prominent producers in Western Australia and the Northern Territory.

As a key member of our core design team, you will act as the focal point Piping Designer on brownfields oil & gas projects, taking responsibility for the design and reporting directly to the Piping Design Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead piping design projects, managing project scopes and resources
  • Develop and implement piping design solutions, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and within budget
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior designers
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering or Drafting
  • Minimum 15 years piping design experience in the oil and gas industry
  • Minimum 5 years in a Principal Design role
  • Understanding of discipline technology and other discipline requirements
  • Ability to problem solve effectively and work in a team environment
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
  • Competency in E3D CAD systems
