Job Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Contract Specialist to join our team in Canberra.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contract Governance and Oversight: Implement and continually improve the contract governance process, ensuring all contracts are managed effectively from draft request to post-signatory storage.
  • Legal Support: Provide first-level legal support to the wholesale team, working closely with the legal department.
  • Risk Management: Ensure commercial contracts minimize operational, legal, financial, and credit risks for the organization.
  • Contract Negotiation and Management: Negotiate and draft customer contracts, including service notifications, variation agreements, promotion letters, and termination agreements.
  • Regulatory Engagement: Interface with regulatory bodies on key issues affecting the organization.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in contract drafting, negotiation, and compliance.
  • Strong leadership skills, providing guidance and support to the wholesale team.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Commercial foundations and business acumen.
  • Experience in contract negotiation in a matrix environment.
