Early Childhood Support Specialist

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Early Childhood Support Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with families, providing support and guidance to ensure the best possible outcomes for children aged 0-9 with developmental concerns or disabilities.

Job Description

The role involves conducting observations and using screening tools and/or assessments to understand the impact of developmental delays or disabilities on children. You will then identify and explain the most appropriate pathways of supports, whether this be access to early interventions or support with applying for government-funded programs.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing personalized plans to support children and their families.
  • Providing information and referrals to local mainstream and community services, such as healthcare, education, and social services.
  • Supporting families to connect with service providers that meet their needs.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A minimum Diploma tertiary qualification in Early Childhood Education or a relevant professional field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Moderate report writing and IT skills, including database management.
  • Experience working with families and children with developmental concerns or disabilities.

  • A current Driver's Licence (P1 minimum).

  • A Valid NDIS Worker Screening Check (NDIS WC) or willingness to obtain.
