
Developmental Therapist Specialist

This position plays an integral part of our Child Development Services Unit. As a key member of the multidisciplinary team, you will work closely with Speech Pathologists, Clinical Psychologists, and Therapeutic Care Staff to provide assessment and therapeutic developmental services to young children and their families in Southern Adelaide.
Your primary responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing assessment and therapeutic intervention strategies tailored to young children and their families
- Administering and scoring standardized tests where applicable
- Providing training and consultation to other staff members, agencies, and community groups
- Clinical management of complex problems related to young children with developmental delays and their families, often involving parent-child relationship issues and high vulnerability
To succeed in this role, you must demonstrate your ability to relate well to, work with, and support children from diverse cultures and backgrounds, often in complex vulnerable families.
You will also possess:
- The ability to work under pressure, prioritize workloads, meet deadlines, and recognize workload pressures within the service while offering support
- Skills in open, honest, and respectful communication, treating others as we would like to be treated
- The ability to implement a broad range of Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions and make complex clinical decisions
- Teamwork knowledge and skills
