Investigations & Disciplinary Specialist

Job Description:

As a key member of our compliance team, the Investigations and Disciplinary Specialist plays a pivotal role in upholding the highest standards of ethical and professional behaviour. This involves managing the end-to-end assurance and compliance function, including complaints investigation, disciplinary processes, and regulatory reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct initial assessments of complaints to determine if they fall within our jurisdiction;
  • Liaise with complainants and members to gather additional information where needed;
  • Manage investigations of complaints, maintaining accurate records and preparing detailed reports and recommendations;
  • Administer disciplinary processes based on investigation outcomes as Executive Officer to the IPA Disciplinary Tribunal;
  • Ensure compliance with regulations, codes of ethics, and professional standards;
  • Maintain accurate and secure case files and logs, draft formal correspondence, and ensure policy compliance.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Able to critically assess and analyse complaints and evidence;
  • Understanding of professional regulation or disciplinary frameworks (preferably in accountancy);
  • High level of discretion and professionalism;
  • Excellent communication, report writing, and organisational skills;
  • Background in regulatory bodies, complaints departments, or professional associations.
