Job Title: Contract Negotiator

This is an exciting opportunity to join our organisation as a Contract Negotiator - Engineering Services & Maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure effective outcomes are delivered and achieved from our contractors for all high-risk, high-value engineering services and maintenance contracts across the state.
  • Develop and implement a contract management strategy for engineering and services & maintenance contracts.
  • Lead the day-to-day operational management of contracts/agreements in conjunction with the local engineering services teams across the state.
What You'll Be Doing

- Prepare tender specifications and supporting contractual documentation to deliver best value outcomes for engineering services.

- Ensure standard procurement processes are adhered to, while identifying opportunities to improve those processes.

- Develop and implement contracts that incorporate performance incentives and desired procurement outcomes.

- Manage changes over the life of the contract/agreement in conjunction with the indirects category team.

- Monitor and analyse supplier and contract/agreement performance to ensure goods and services are provided in line with the agreed specification and conditions.

- Maintain contractor compliance and update records in the contract management system.

- Collaborate with stakeholders in dispute resolution and complaint management.

- Engage, consult, and negotiate with staff, suppliers, and customers to deliver positive, sustainable relationships.

- Manage stakeholder and vendor meetings and coordinate administration tasks.

About You

To be successful, you will have demonstrated experience in managing complex indirect service contracts, preferably with engineering contract experience, in a large diverse organisation. You will also possess:

- Relevant procurement or business qualification or certification.

- Demonstrated experience in managing complex engineering contracts in a large diverse organisation.

- Demonstrated experience with transitioning out and implementing new contracts.

- Knowledge and experience of e-procurement systems, including data analysis and reporting.

- Significant IT skills for online communication and content creation, including Microsoft Office.

- Strong customer service skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Proven analytical skills, including the ability to prepare written reports.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering results in a fast-paced environment and will be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
