Job Title: Operations Manager

About the Position

This is an exciting opportunity to take on a challenging leadership role in our Operations department.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing production units, upholding high standards of health and safety (HSE) and quality. They will collaborate with all departments to ensure production meets customer expectations, while providing guidance and coaching to team members to maintain a positive work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure HSE standards are consistently maintained
  • Ensure compliance with site standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Resolve day-to-day production issues
  • Coordinate staffing schedules to meet production demands
  • Collaborate with maintenance to identify and prioritize equipment repairs
  • Ensure team members are appropriately trained and qualified to perform duties, particularly in relation to HSE and quality
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Science, or a trade background with experience in operations management or supervisory roles
  • Supervisory experience with people management exposure, preferably in a manufacturing setting
  • Experience in a unionized environment strongly preferred, with knowledge of Australian Industrial Relations essential
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to promote teamwork through inclusiveness and collaboration
  • Strong time management, technical, and problem-solving skills
