Job Overview

We are seeking skilled workers to assist with commercial demolition and new building bulk and detail excavations in the Canberra region.

About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity to work as a Construction Labourer, assisting with site preparation and infrastructure projects.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Operate various heavy machinery including excavators and skid steer loaders.
  • Lead small teams and undertake supervisory roles on construction sites.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training programs.

Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A reliable mode of transport to get to work.
  • A current 'white' card.
  • An ACT WorkSafe compliant asbestos awareness card.

Deseirable Skills:

The following skills sets/experience/qualifications/tickets/licences would be highly regarded:

  • A current driver's licence.
  • Experience working in the demolition, civil or construction industries.
  • Trade qualifications such as carpentry, mechanics, boiler making, etc.
  • Experience operating heavy machinery including excavators, skid steer loaders, trucks, boom and scissor lifts, forklifts, working at heights, dogging, confined spaces, first aid, etc.
  • Leadership experience.

What We Offer:

This position offers a competitive hourly rate with overtime rates over 40 hours. An immediate start is available and overtime is generally available. The team often works long hours, up to 56 hours per week (10 hours a day Monday to Friday and 6 hours Saturday).
