Job Overview

The NSW Department of Communities and Justice is seeking a strategic leader to spearhead change in the criminal justice system.

This role requires an expert in delivering and reforming diversionary programs, who can lead high-performing teams, collaborate with stakeholders, and shape policy and programs to improve the criminal justice response to vulnerable cohorts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the strategic governance of key diversionary programs.
  • Cultivate partnerships with government agencies, NGOs, researchers, and individuals with lived experience to enhance and expand services.
  • Provide expert advice and policy responses, including through briefings to senior officials and Cabinet Submissions.
  • Develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Analyse relevant trends and issues, contributing to justice policy and program development.
