Senior Contract Administrator Job Description

Our company is seeking a highly skilled Senior Contracts Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our commercial management team, you will be responsible for managing large subcontracts and self-performed works, ensuring alignment with project objectives and stakeholder expectations.

The successful candidate will have strong construction experience and a collaborative, solutions-focused mindset. They will bring confidence in negotiating contracts, managing subcontractor claims and payments, and working closely with both construction and design teams.

Responsibilities:

  • ">
  • Lead end-to-end commercial management of large subcontracts and self-performed works, ensuring alignment with project objectives and stakeholder expectations.">
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies, manage subcontractor engagement, and ensure packages are scoped and delivered efficiently.">
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to junior commercial staff, while actively managing cost forecasting, contract compliance, and risk mitigation.">
  • Maintain strong subcontractor relationships and market awareness to drive value and effective contract negotiation.">
  • Support head contract administration and reporting, including managing variations, claims, dispute resolution, and ensuring compliance with internal systems and the Building Code.">

Requirements / Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have:

">

- Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Engineering, Economics, Quantity Surveying, Law, Commerce or equivalent.

">

- Minimum 5 years' experience as a Contracts Administrator or Quantity Surveyor in the construction and engineering industry.

">

- Experience in all stages of subcontract management, including scope preparation, procurement, cost forecasting, subcontractor management, claims/variations management, completion and close out.

">

- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
