Job Title: Venue Officer

Hume City Council is seeking a skilled and customer-focused Venue Officer to join our team. As a Venue Officer, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality functions, events, and educational activities at various venues across the Hume municipality.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Setup and reset rooms according to room setup sheets, ensuring a seamless experience for trainers, presenters, and attendees.
  • Test and maintain equipment, including internal and external computers, AV equipment, and other technical systems.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to trainers, presenters, attendees, event organizers, and other hirers, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded.
  • Assist trainers and presenters with their requirements, providing information on fire evacuation procedures and other essential details.
  • Cover reception spaces during breaks, ensuring a welcoming and inclusive environment for the Hume community.
  • Offer accurate and timely information services to the community, responding to queries via face-to-face, telephone, or online channels.
  • Support venue users in utilizing the facilities effectively for functions, events, education, cultural, leisure, arts, or employment support purposes.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrated proficiency in computer and audio-visual equipment usage.
  • Knowledge of manual handling and OHS principles.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups, fostering cooperation and building strong relationships.
  • Experience in customer service and/or hospitality is highly desirable.
