A key role in Capability HR is available for a skilled Senior Payroll Administrator to join their team in Sydney. This position involves processing payroll data, reconciling deductions, and maintaining accurate records.

This senior role plays a crucial part in the daily operations of the organization's payroll function, ensuring timely and accurate payments to employees in Australia and New Zealand. The ideal candidate will have experience with CHRIS21/iChris or similar payroll systems, strong numerical skills, and excellent communication abilities.

The salary range for this position is AUD 60,000 - 80,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, the company offers a hybrid setup, allowing employees to work from home one or two days a week and spend the remaining days in the office in Sydney CBD.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Process payroll data: Process new hires, terminations, and ongoing staff payroll data with high accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Run bi-weekly payroll: Ensure timely and accurate payments to employees in Australia and New Zealand.
  • Reconcile deductions: Reconcile payroll deductions, tax, and superannuation contributions to ensure compliance with Australian and New Zealand employment laws.
  • Maintain records: Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll records, including employee information and payment history.
  • Answer inquiries: Provide prompt and professional assistance to employees regarding their payroll queries.
  • Generate reports: Generate regular reports on payroll performance, employee data, and system upgrades.
  • Assist teams: Collaborate with HR and Payroll teams on projects and annual system upgrades.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Strong numerical skills: Possess strong numerical skills and understanding of Australian and New Zealand employment laws.
  • Payroll experience: Have minimum 1 year of experience in payroll/accounting, preferably with CHRIS21/iChris or similar payroll systems.
  • Communication skills: Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Relevant degree: Hold a relevant degree in HR, Business, Finance, or similar field (preferred).
