Role Overview

Careers Hive Zone Leaders are responsible for overseeing volunteers, fostering connections between industry and young people, and maintaining the safety of their designated zones.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise assigned volunteers in your zone to ensure a seamless experience.
  • Facilitate meaningful interactions between industry volunteers and young people.
  • Maintain safety protocols, including equipment use and storage.

About You

We seek natural communicators who can build rapport quickly with young people. Ideal candidates have team supervisor experience in events environments, demonstrating approachability, reliability, and supportiveness. Presenting and facilitating groups of young people are essential skills. Experience in youth work or education settings is desirable but not necessary; passion for inspiring and supporting young people is vital.

Training and Development

Successful candidates will receive comprehensive training prior to the event, equipping them with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in their role. They may be required to undergo a criminal check through Disclosure Scotland.

Event Details

This role requires approximately 30 hours over 4 days, providing an opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of young people. A scientific or STEM background is not essential, but enthusiasm for inspiring and supporting young people is crucial.
