Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cyber Security Consultant to join our team in Canberra. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the delivery of a range of engagements, from strategy and risk to threat intelligence and technical advice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the delivery of cyber security engagements, including strategy and risk assessments, threat intelligence, and technical advice.
  • Conduct security risk assessments and review maturity against frameworks.
  • Assist with incident response and recovery from cyber incidents.
  • Contribute to successful digital forensics and eDiscovery engagements.
  • Develop and enhance third-party and cyber supply chain security and resilience programs.
  • Prepare detailed written reports, presentations, dashboards, and visualizations.
  • Prepare and present work as part of client briefings.
  • Identify appropriate security controls and provide recommendations to enhance and deploy security solutions in complex production environments.
  • Develop written proposals and deliverables independently and in teams.
  • Work closely with team members and clients, maintaining a professional and supportive environment.

Requirements

  • Hold a degree or similar qualification or demonstrated combination of training, certification, work experience, and technical expertise.
  • Developing proficiency and a passion for government cyber security, including the technical aspects of cyber/information security/information governance & privacy.
  • Experience assisting with cyber-related projects, such as conducting security risk assessments, reviewing maturity against frameworks, or assisting with incident/data breach response.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Ambition, drive, and determination.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Fantastic teamwork skills, a strong work ethic, and ability to work under pressure.
  • Due to the nature of work, applicants must be Australian citizens and currently hold a security clearance or be eligible to obtain one.
