About the Role: Our client seeks skilled professionals to join a newly created Legal Triage team on a contract basis. The incumbent will work in a hybrid environment based in Melbourne and demonstrate behaviours reflecting our values.

Credit Collections aims to minimise overdue accounts, prevent bad debts, while upholding optimal customer experience. This team manages & optimises cash collections across portfolios, identifying opportunities to resolve customer indebtedness upstream and improve engagement throughout the collection lifecycle.

The Legal Triage Collector is responsible for credit management/collections activity and decisioning in late-stage collections, focusing on maximising our cash flow and minimising Net Bad Debt Expense. A deep understanding of collection practices and regulatory compliance in the energy sector is required.

To be suitable, you'll have:

  • Proven experience in late-stage collections activity
  • Demonstrable understanding of collection practices and regulatory compliance in the energy sector or similar industry
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to manage difficult conversations with customers
  • Analytical skills and ability to interpret financial data
  • SAP experience preferred
  • Proven interpersonal skills with high-quality written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
  • Ability to work independently and prioritise workloads
  • Goal-oriented, thriving on meeting & exceeding targets
  • Strong and proven strategic and conceptual skills
