Lead the Australian Nuclear-Powered Submarine Program

Australia's acquisition of conventionally-armed, nuclear-powered submarines is a historic and transformational milestone.

Program Overview:

The Optimal Pathway announced on this significant undertaking presents an exciting opportunity for dedicated, committed and aspirational leaders to lead, develop and shape the Australian Nuclear-Powered Submarine (NPS) Program.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accountable for delivering Australia's nuclear-powered submarine capability, including acquisition of Virginia Class and build of SSN-AUKUS platforms, as well as delivery of sustainment and supporting systems.
  • Provide enterprise-level leadership across the NPS program, aligning program objectives with strategic government and defence priorities.
  • Ensure program execution meets Australia's security, safety, regulatory, budgetary, and capability requirements, working closely with national and industry stakeholders.
  • Guide the most complex and consequential Defence program Australia has ever undertaken, reporting directly to the Director-General of the Australian Submarine Agency.
