Renewable Energy Project Lead

This is a senior leadership role within our Sydney office, focused on delivering high-quality environmental approvals and impact assessments for renewable energy projects.

About the Role

  • Lead and manage teams to secure major project approvals for clients in the renewable, mining, infrastructure, and industrial sectors.
  • Oversee environmental assessment projects and related approvals management in support of clients' capital project delivery.
  • BUILD, GROW, AND MANAGE A HIGH-PERFORMANCE TEAM by identifying emerging talent and working with them to reach their full potential; ensure rising stars are nurtured, developed, and given new areas of responsibility.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the nation and globe to drive innovation within the technical community and stay ahead of client needs.
  • Work in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment to build business, lead client and technical teams, and meet financial targets, overall project budget, and schedule requirements.
  • Partner with Account Directors to develop commercial strategies to pursue and win new business opportunities that result in significant revenue growth aligned with our global strategy:
    • Provide business value selling at the top levels of client organisations to raise the profile of our capabilities and identify and shape clients' needs for our services.
    • Develop new client relationships and expand existing ones by delivering strategic consulting advice, excellent value, and quality service.
    • Maintain a pulse on industry business cycles and prioritise sales efforts toward high-potential, top opportunities.

Key Qualifications

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications;
  • 15+ years of experience in environmental planning and approvals, impact assessment, working within WA and Commonwealth legislative requirements;
  • High degree of technical competence in environmental planning and approvals, due diligence, land use planning, post-approval management, and broad knowledge of impact assessment best practices, with a solid grasp of key issues within renewables, infrastructure, and industrial sectors.
  • Solid experience building and sustaining strong relationships with major clients;
  • Authorisation to work in Australia;
  • In-depth understanding of Project Approvals challenges and existing relationships that can be leveraged into new business;
  • Business acumen to understand business risk and challenges and recognise corporate opportunities;
  • Demonstrable track record in delivering multimillion-dollar sales results annually, including successfully winning large and strategic projects.
