The Australian National Maritime Museum is seeking a Records Management Officer to contribute to the Museum’s strategic direction for records and information management. This role is responsible for developing and implementing information management initiatives that align with Whole of Government policies and the Museum’s Corporate Plan. The successful candidate will be a key advisor on records management, providing guidance on information governance, data storage, and retrieval systems.

As a Records Management Officer, you will be part of the Museum’s information management team, working closely with staff to ensure the effective management of corporate records. You will develop and maintain records management policies, procedures, and systems, and provide training and support to staff on records management best practices.

The Museum requires strong business skills, including the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines. You will be required to collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to ensure the successful implementation of information management initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing records management policies and procedures
  • Maintaining and updating records management systems
  • Providing training and support to staff on records management best practices
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to implement information management initiatives
