Recreational Activities Officer

The Role: This is a pivotal position where the successful candidate will be responsible for driving engagement, participation, and energy amongst residents through a variety of social, recreational, and cultural activities.

The ideal candidate will lead mental health and wellbeing programs that empower residents to make informed choices and promote independence. By facilitating positive health and wellbeing options, you will have a profound impact on the lives of our residents and their families.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, organize, and lead activities that cater to social and recreational needs while promoting independence and enhancing the overall quality of life.
  • Assess and document the effectiveness of programs, monitoring resident progress and making necessary adjustments.
  • Drive energy, engagement, and participation among residents in various activities.

Requirements:

  • Certificate IV in Leisure and Lifestyle or equivalent qualification.
  • Senior First Aid Certificate (highly desirable).
  • Previous experience within an aged care setting.
  • Highly developed organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of Resident Rights, Aged Care Accreditation Standards, and Outcomes.
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and internet/intranet applications.
  • Understanding of Work Health and Safety principles.
