About the role
This exciting traineeship opportunity enables you to undertake a 2-year Certificate III in Water Operations, working in a dynamic local government environment. You will be responsible for assisting with the operation and maintenance of Council's wastewater system treatment facilities and pumping stations under direction from your supervisor.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing support to Water and Wastewater operators with the operation and maintenance of Water and/or Sewage Treatment Plant(s) and raw water pumping stations.
- Once deemed competent, providing an 'on call' operations and maintenance service on a negotiated basis as required.
- Assisting with the operation and maintenance of plant and equipment, including pipe cleaning equipment, pumps, generators, power tools, and vehicles.
- Completing administrative tasks, such as recording daily log sheets, service request forms, incident report forms, and maintaining electronic records.
About you
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A Higher School Certificate or equivalent qualification.
- A current NSW driver's license.
- The ability to complete a Certificate III in Water Operations.
- Fundamental communication, literacy, numeracy, and computer skills.
- Demonstrated interest in gaining a career in local government.
- Demonstrated experience and/or capability to deliver the Job Specific Key Accountabilities outlined in the Position Description.
