Chief Operations Director

This is a key role within the Engineering department where you will oversee the daily operations and ensure maximum efficiency of labor, while maintaining optimal guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:- Prioritize maintenance and repairs across the property to minimize downtime.
- Manage staff to ensure effective performance management and budget control.
- Recruit, induct and train new staff to align with Resort policies and procedures.
- Advise on cost-saving initiatives that align with the department's objectives.
- Order stock and supplies while adhering to Resort purchasing policies.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations.
- Maintain operational efficiency and guest satisfaction.
- Negotiate contracts with external vendors and service providers.
Required skills and qualifications include trade qualifications, electrical or plumbing expertise, and previous experience working within a large-scale hotel/resort. A minimum of 5 years' management experience, ideally gained from a similar environment, is also necessary. Additionally, candidates must demonstrate experience working within budgets, possess a manual motor vehicle driver's license, and have a forklift license.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced leader who can effectively manage teams, prioritize tasks, and maintain a safe working environment. They will also be able to provide strategic advice on maintenance and operations, as well as contribute to the overall success of the Resort.
