Your Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with CG Supervisors and VFX Supervisors to determine the best approach to solving CG challenges and developing the final look.
  • Design and create the lighting and look of computer-generated objects and scenes.
  • Create final CG scene assembly, lighting, and rendering of complex shots.
  • Develop efficient rendering setups to optimize render farm usage.
  • Meet set deadlines while maintaining the highest level of work quality.
  • Mentor Junior Artists within the Lighting/Look Dev team when needed.
Requirements
  • Lighting and Rendering experience within a VFX environment.
  • Broad understanding of modern shading models and in-depth understanding of PBR.
  • Previous experience performing shot LookDev and Lighting tasks.
  • Thorough understanding of the VFX pipeline from modeling through animation, texturing, rendering, and compositing.
  • Proficiency in writing plug-ins, setting up sequences, debugging simulations, and writing shaders.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision to complete a shot.
  • Ability to pick up new techniques and learn new software quickly.
  • Knowledge of Python is essential, knowledge of Maya, Houdini, and Redshift preferred.
  • Excellent listening and communication skills, able to receive direction and criticism.
  • Excellent presentation/communication skills in dailies/shot reviews.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Ability and willingness to help and teach mid to junior-level artists.
  • Deep understanding of real-world materials.
  • Understanding of energy conservation principles.
  • Deep understanding of Physically Based Rendering and shader models.
