About This Role:


We are seeking a passionate Speech Pathologist to join our small dynamic team in Cairns. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for administering and interpreting a wide range of audiometric tests to determine hearing efficiency and locate sites of detected hearing problems.



Key Responsibilities:



  • Administering and interpreting audiometric tests to determine hearing efficiency and locate sites of detected hearing problems
  • Interpreting audiometric test results alongside other medical, social and behavioural diagnostic data
  • Evaluating total response pattern and acoustic tests to distinguish between organic and non-organic hearing loss
  • Planning, directing and participating in counselling, speech reading and other rehabilitation programs
  • Providing assessment, intervention, reporting, therapy planning and clinical recommendation within the scope of your clinical discipline
  • Working with a diverse caseload to provide high quality clinical supports in home or community settings


Requirements:



  • SPA registration as a Speech Pathologist
  • Experience working with people with a disability and NDIS and/or disability sector experience is preferred but not essential
  • Paediatric and/or adult experience is highly desirable
  • Experience working in a community services setting is desirable
  • Excellent time management skills and organisational skills
  • IT skills at an intermediate level including computer and mobile, and a willingness to embrace new technology
  • Hold a drivers license and have use of your own vehicle
