Indigenous Support Officer

This role provides an opportunity to serve as a key contact for the Academic Director and Professor of Indigenous Education, ensuring the efficient operation of the office and managing their calendar, correspondence, and travel arrangements.
About This OpportunityThe successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-level executive support to the Professor of Indigenous Education and the Academic Director, ATSISU. The ideal candidate will have experience in providing administrative and executive support to senior staff and have highly developed computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage the Professor's diary, coordinate meetings, handle correspondence, and make travel arrangements.
- Administer financial transactions and reconcile credit card accounts in accordance with University policies.
- Draft correspondence, reports, and other materials, as well as develop specialized reports.
- Ensure compliance with relevant University policies and procedures.
- Develop networks and liaise with internal and external personnel.
- Lead the academic administration function for ATSISU and provide guidance to junior team members.
The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate a proven ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize workload effectively.
About You:- Highly developed administrative skills, including experience providing executive assistance to senior staff.
- Excellent computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office.
- Able to work independently and manage a busy workload with excellent organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, both written and oral, with the ability to consult, negotiate, and liaise with diverse groups.
- Demonstrated understanding of Indigenous protocols when working with respected Indigenous peoples, knowledge holders, and communities.
