Financial Reporting Specialist Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Reporting Specialist to join our Finance team in Sydney. This role is responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial reporting across the business, with a focus on lease accounting, capital expenditure, and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lease Accounting: Manage lease accounting in accordance with IFRS 16, including recognition, remeasurement, and disclosure of right-of-use assets and lease liabilities.
  • Lease Register and Reporting: Maintain the lease register and ensure accurate monthly lease journals, reconciliations, and reporting.
  • Accounting for Engineering Department: Manage end-to-end accounting for the Engineering department.
  • Group Consolidation: Assist with group consolidation, including intercompany eliminations and reconciliation of subsidiary results.
  • Reporting Deliverables: Prepare quarterly reporting deliverables for investors and lenders.
  • Compliance and Controls: Monitor compliance with accounting policies, standards, and internal controls.
  • Audit Support: Act as a key contact for external auditors and participate in the year-end audit process.
  • Capex and Projects: Oversee Capex and Projects Accountants in tracking and reporting capital expenditure, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve financial reporting processes, systems, and controls.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience in Finance roles.
  • Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree and CA qualification.
  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to quickly learn complex financial concepts, experience working in a fast-paced environment, strong technical skills in Finance and Accounting, and proficiency in Excel.
