About the Role

The Brisbane City Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ward Officer to provide exceptional customer service and administrative support to the Walter Taylor Ward Office.

As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality administrative and customer service tasks, including entering and tracking customer requests, managing timelines, and organizing documents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service to residents and stakeholders, ensuring honesty, fairness, sensitivity, and dignity in all interactions.
  • Provide quality administrative and secretarial support to the office-based operation, including diary management, organizing documents, and monitoring budgets.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of customers and Council officers through various channels.
  • Conduct research, write reports, and handle sensitive information in line with Council policy.
  • Utilize social media channels and photo editing software to enhance the Council's online presence.
  • Work autonomously and as part of a team to achieve agreed performance standards and contribute to a culture of excellence.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated customer service experience with a strong focus on outcomes and resolving diverse customer requests.
  • Proven experience in providing quality administrative and secretarial support to an office-based operation.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills to liaise effectively with a wide range of customers and Council officers.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Experience in research, writing reports, and handling sensitive information in line with Council policy.
  • Knowledge of social media channels and photo editing software.
