We are seeking a skilled Sterilisation Processing Specialist to join our organisation on a part-time basis, working 0.8 FTE (30.4 hours/week).
Job SummaryThe successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking general and specialised duties in disinfection and sterilisation of instruments from various departments across the hospital.
Key Responsibilities:- Undertake thermal disinfection, functionality checks/inspection, packaging and sterilisation of all instrumentation for theatres and other clinical areas.
- Comply with AS 5369:2023 standards, Infection Control policy, GENCA guidelines and other statutory requirements.
- Operate, monitor, interpret and document all equipment reprocessing requirements.
- Report and document all quality activities.
- Ensure prioritisation of instrumentation and processes.
- Maintain the Sterilising Services Department area and equipment in accordance with Standards.
- Actively participate in quality improvement initiatives and risk management activities.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Experience in sterilisation processing within a healthcare environment.
- Sterilisation Service Certificate III or working towards completion of the course.
- Knowledge and understanding of AS 5369:2023.
- Knowledge and experience in the use of electronic tracking systems.
- Track record of prioritising workload demands.
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team as well as independently.
The Sterilising Services Department contains state-of-the-art equipment and provides a contemporary sterile processing service for surgical equipment. The operational hours are from 6.30am to 10.30pm Monday to Fridays and 9.00 to 5.00 PM on weekends and public holidays.
