We are seeking a skilled technician to join our team on a part-time basis, working 30.4 hours per week.

As a Sterilisation Technician, your responsibilities will include:

  • Performing general and specialized duties in disinfection and sterilization of instruments from various departments within the hospital.
  • Ensuring compliance with AS 5369:2023 standards, Infection Control policies, and other statutory requirements.
  • Operating, monitoring, interpreting, and documenting equipment reprocessing requirements.
  • Reporting and documenting quality activities.
  • Prioritizing instrumentation and processes to meet operational demands.
  • Maintaining the Sterile Supply Department (SSD) area and equipment according to established standards.
  • Participating in quality improvement initiatives and risk management activities.
  • Assisting with the management of general stock.

The Sterile Supply Department operates from 6:30 AM to 10:30 PM, Monday to Friday, and 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on weekends and public holidays. However, services may increase to 24/7 as demand dictates.

Key skills and qualifications required for this role include:

  • Experience in Sterilisation processing within a healthcare environment.
  • Sterilisation Service Certificate III or working towards completion of the course.
  • Knowledge and understanding of AS 5369:2023.
  • Proficiency in the use of electronic tracking systems.
  • Able to prioritize workload demands effectively.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of manual handling principles and techniques.
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service in a healthcare setting.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Flexibility in rostering.
