About This Role

This role is crucial for those seeking to advance their careers in residential care. The successful candidate will oversee the daily care of young people provided by residential care workers within an allocated home during times when the House Supervisor is not present.

This position reports to the House Supervisor or Residential Care Coordinator and is part of our Out of Home Care Program.

Key requirements include:

  • A strong understanding of Aboriginal culture and values, as well as awareness of current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people, and their families.
  • Relevant Diploma with significant experience, including four (4) additional mandatory competencies (Residential Care Skillset/Top Up Units).
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of the residential care field, particularly within a therapeutic environment.
  • Ability to supervise, lead, and support a team of residential care workers.
  • Proven ability to relate to and work with young people who have social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties.
  • Skills and experience in developing behavioural management programs for children and adolescents with challenging behaviours.
