Alumina Production Specialist

Description:

  • We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter/Boilermaker Tradesperson to join our Raw Materials Maintenance team in the Utilities department.
  • The ideal candidate will contribute to our vision of a Safe, Stable and Sustainable workplace by ensuring all work is performed in accordance with site health, environmental and community policies, systems and procedures.
  • This role involves completing maintenance and repair work on Materials Handling Conveying Transfer systems and associated equipment including Bauxite Unloaders, Alumina Loader and Dust Collection systems.
  • Responsibilities include identifying, developing and implementing improvements relating to plant equipment, work processes and practices.
  • The successful candidate will take responsibility for safety, work quality and quantity, training and learning, as well as effectively communicating with section customers and peers to achieve maximum productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on equipment and machinery to ensure optimal performance.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify potential hazards and take corrective action as necessary to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Collaborate with other teams to resolve issues and improve workflows, developing and implementing solutions to optimize equipment performance and reduce downtime.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior staff members, promoting their development and growth within the organization.
