About Your Role
QAL is currently seeking a motivated and safety focused Boilerhouse Controllerto join our Bayer Department. This role is integral to the operation of critical steam and energy systems, contributing directly to our vision of a Safe, Stable, and Sustainableoperation.

Responsibilities
As the Boilerhouse Controller, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient, safe, and compliant operation of the Boilerhouse and associated equipment. Reporting to the Operations Controller Specialist, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Demonstrating a strong commitment to working safely, both independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Ensuring all activities are performed in accordance with health, safety, environmental, and community policies and procedures
  • Executing daily operational duties related to boilers, steam turbines, and auxiliary plant systems
  • Monitoring plant performance, conducting equipment isolations, commissioning tasks, and performing preventative maintenance
  • Maintaining high standards of housekeeping to support a clean, organised, and efficient work environment

What you will bring

To be successfully considered for this role, you should have:

  • Demonstrated commitment to personal and team safety
  • Possess current WH&S-endorsed Boiler Advanced and Turbine Operation certification
  • Proven recent experience in operating boilers and steam turbines
  • Strong problem-solving skills with effective fault-finding capabilities
  • Positive, self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic
