Contracts Manager Role

The position of Contracts Manager involves achieving operational excellence within the contract management function.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare new contracts on behalf of business units, incorporating development of contract scope and schedules, and advising on structuring contracts to mitigate risks effectively.
  • Mobilise new contracts ensuring all internal stakeholders are engaged to support contracts over their lifecycle.
  • Provide advice to Operational and Commercial leads in contractual matters to promote agreement and avoid disagreement.
  • Assist Operational leads to achieve the best possible outcome for business related to loss claims made or received.
  • Support the preparation of responses to invitations to tender, particularly regarding the management of contractual deviations proposed to balance legal, operational, and commercial requirements effectively.
  • Develop and maintain systems, procedures, and precedents concerning contract management and related activities.
  • Liaise with Legal and Insurance functions to ensure that identified risks are appropriately understood and managed.

This role requires a strong understanding of contract law and risk management principles, as well as logical, critical, and analytical thinking skills. The ideal candidate will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work independently, and have proficiency in core Microsoft applications, especially Excel and Word.

The successful candidate will hold a tertiary qualification in Business, Law, Engineering, or a similar field, and have operational experience that has included commercial and/or contract management.
