Cloud Incident Response Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Principal Software Engineer to join our OCI Major Incident Management team. As part of this role, you will be responsible for minimizing the downtime of OCI services by delivering excellent major incident management and architecting systems with high scalability, performance, and security.
About Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)Oracle Cloud Infrastructure is the first line of defense for maintaining the high availability of Oracle's cloud. We make customer-impacting events shorter, less frequent, and less impactful by providing large-scale incident management. Our team is front-and-center in driving down event duration by utilizing our operational experience, knowledge of best practices, and ability to develop tools to automate incident management.
Your Responsibilities- Develop and implement scalable systems and applications in an agile environment.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to improve incident management processes.
- Provide technical leadership to a team of engineers and participate in architecture and design reviews with senior technical leaders and architects.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
- 5+ years of software development experience.
- Extensive experience with major incident management in a cloud-based environment.
- Experience with modern object-oriented programming languages such as Java or C++.
- Proven track record of shipping large complex scalable systems/applications in an agile environment.
- Strong analytic and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership, project planning, communication, and execution skills.
- Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
We offer a competitive salary of $180,000 per annum, plus benefits. Eligibility to work in Australia without sponsorship is required. The estimated salary range for this position is between $150,000 and $200,000 per annum, depending on your location and qualifications.
