About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Portfolio Manager - Strategic Supplier Engagement to join our team at Qantas Group Procurement. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the end-to-end management of relationships with key technology suppliers, ensuring alignment with our strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Supplier Relationship Management: Develop and execute a supplier relationship management framework to ensure that our technology suppliers meet our needs and align with our vision for innovation and growth.
  • Drive Supplier Performance: Utilize data and analytics to drive supplier performance through continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring we receive top-tier service and innovation.
  • Contract Negotiation: Lead contract negotiations to secure competitive terms while fostering long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with suppliers.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with supplier partnerships, ensuring resilience and continuity in our technology supply chain.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, ensuring they meet or exceed agreed-upon KPIs, and lead initiatives to address any issues or gaps.
Requirements
  • 10+ Years of Experience: In supplier relationship management, preferably within the technology sector.
  • Skilled Negotiator: A skilled negotiator who can secure favorable outcomes while maintaining strong, positive relationships with suppliers.
  • Passion for Innovation: A passion for a forward-thinking approach, always looking for ways to innovate and optimize.
  • Strong Leadership Skills: Strong leadership skills with an ability to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Commercial Acumen: A high level of commercial acumen and extensive experience in engaging with suppliers.
  • Influencing Stakeholders: Demonstrated ability to influence and convince stakeholders, building effective business relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Complex Workload Management: Significant experience managing complex workloads and competing priorities, particularly in a commercial setting.
  • Airline and Technology Knowledge: Knowledge of airline and technology settings is highly beneficial.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
