Nurse / Midwife Manager - Safety, Quality and Risk is a senior leadership role in the healthcare industry. The position involves leading safety, quality and risk systems across various divisions, providing expert governance and guidance to nursing and midwifery teams.
Key Responsibilities- Lead Safety, Quality & Risk Systems across the organization, ensuring compliance with National Safety & Quality Health Service Standards and continuous accreditation readiness.
- Drive Clinical Governance initiatives, including incident monitoring, risk management, clinical audits, and improvement strategies to enhance patient outcomes.
- Provide expert leadership and advice on safety, quality, and professional practice to nursing and midwifery teams; act as a resource, mentor, and change facilitator.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate projects, implement evidence-based improvements, and manage complex service delivery processes.
- Support Education, Research & Evaluation, ensuring quality frameworks are embedded in practice and services remain responsive, innovative, and culturally sensitive.
- Registered Nurse and/or Midwife, or eligible for registration with the relevant governing body, holding (or eligible to hold) a current practicing certificate.
- Minimum 3 years' post-graduate experience, with proven competence in relevant nursing or midwifery practice.
- Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to lead consumer engagement and support staff development.
- Sound knowledge of clinical governance, including quality improvement systems, accreditation standards, and risk management frameworks.
- In-depth understanding of relevant legislation, professional standards, and current issues in nursing/midwifery and healthcare delivery.
- Relocation financial support may be negotiated, subject to eligibility.
- Salary package includes a range of benefits up to $9,010 each FBT year plus $2,650 for Meal Entertainment expenses each FBT year.
