The Payroll Officer will manage payroll processes for approximately 180 employees, ensuring accurate and timely payments in accordance with strong governance practices.
This role requires compliance with relevant legal requirements, company policies, and state-based regulations. The Payroll Officer will collaborate closely with the AU Finance team and the People and Culture team.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Pay Cycle Management: Prepare monthly and ad-hoc end-to-end pay runs with a focus on governance.
- New Starter and Termination Processes: Calculate and prepare new starter and termination pays according to policy.
- Leave Requests and Approvals: Ensure leave requests are submitted and approved appropriately.
- Employee Support: Provide information to employees/managers regarding payroll matters.
- Payroll Reconciliation: Manage the reconciliation of payroll, superannuation payments, bonuses, and authorised payroll deductions.
- Year-End Preparations: Prepare and manage year-end ATO and state revenue requirements.
- Payroll Tax Compliance: Process payroll tax, reporting, and payment for all Australian states.
- Workers' Compensation Insurance: Manage and ensure compliance with workers' compensation insurance requirements in all states.
- Expense Claim Management: Ensure employee expense claims (including mileage) are recorded accurately and in line with internal policies.
- Reporting and Analysis: Prepare end-of-month reporting and post-payroll-related accounting entries into Netsuite.
- Monthly Variance Analysis: Provide monthly analysis of variances between actuals and budgets/forecasts.
- Year-End Reporting and Administration: Assist with year-end reporting and administration and work with external auditors.
