Senior Financial Accountant Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about finance and looking to take on new challenges.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the integrity of our financial reporting, supporting commercial decision-making, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. They will also be involved in month-end processes, preparation of accurate financial statements, and supporting financial audits.

This role requires strong financial accounting skills, knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and International Financial Reporting Standards, and experience working with financial modules in ERP systems. The ideal candidate will have a tertiary qualification and CPA/CA/CIMA certification, as well as demonstrated intermediate skills with Microsoft Excel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage financial reporting and ensure accuracy and timeliness
  • Support commercial decision-making by providing financial insights and analysis
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements and increase efficiency
  • Prepare financial reports and statements, including P&L, balance sheet, reconciliations, and analysis
  • Support annual budgeting and interim forecasting processes
  • Support with statutory audit and reporting, including climate-related financial reporting and technical accounting support

We look for people who have what it takes to make an impact. To be considered for this opportunity, you should meet the following criteria:

  • Strong Financial Accounting background with FMCG, Retail, Manufacturing, or BIG4 experience
  • Working knowledge of financial processes, including month & period end, supporting audit, AP/AR, balance sheet, and general ledger reconciliations
  • Knowledge of relevant Australian Accounting Standards and International Financial Reporting Standards
  • Experience influencing and engaging with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Commercial finance experience desirable - business partnering, working with P&Ls, pricing, and scenario modeling
  • Tertiary qualification and CPA/CA/CIMA certification
  • Demonstrated intermediate skills with Microsoft Excel (including formulas, pivot tables, etc)
  • Demonstrated experience working with financial modules in ERP systems
