Role Overview

Graduate Developmental Educator

This position offers the opportunity to provide person-centered support and planning for individuals with disabilities, their families, and support teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop strong relationships to help individuals envision a life full of positive experiences and opportunities for people of all ages.
  • Work alongside participants and their key supports to develop new skills and habits, problem-solve challenges that prevent them from living fulfilled lives, and champion the role of a social model practitioner.
  • Use evidence-based practice and professional reasoning to recommend the most appropriate team of supports, therapy, duration, location, and timing.

As a Developmental Educator, you will work closely with an interdisciplinary team and habit coaches (allied health assistants) to achieve high-impact outcomes in people's lives. You will also have the opportunity to participate in peer group supervision/mentoring and professional learning to grow your expertise and skills.

Requirements:

  • Hold a Bachelor or Masters of Disability (or equivalent) and be eligible to be a member of the DEAI (Membership required upon commencement).
  • Show empathy and understanding, while being open and non-judgmental.
  • Be driven to see high-impact outcomes in people's lives.
  • Be able to obtain an NDIS Worker Screening Check & Working with Children's Check.
  • Hold a valid drivers license.
